Swiss North Shore

North shore mountain biking has its roots in Vancouver, British Columbia, but has now become more of a concept used to describe a specific way of riding and building trails all over the world.

To be able to successfully ride the wooden structures a la North Shore, a combination of technical skill and mental determination is required. Most of the time, the north shore is all about pushing your own limits and to experience that instant gratification once an obstacle is successfully ridden for the first time. And if you fail while riding one specific section you can always hike back and try again, and repeat the procedure until you get it dialed.

The trails in Engelberg are well built and contain obstacles of different difficulty level. From long skinny bridges just 50 cm over the ground to bigger jumps and drops. This makes the area perfect for people of different skill levels riding together.
